Moving the Hot Tub and determining were the leak is.

Now that the concrete pad is poured for the tub I decided that the outdoor kitchen would fit in that space better. So I moved it there. I then tried to move the tub like the Egyptians but lacked the time or man power. So I asked the nice people at M and D Equipment for one of there Sky Trak Machines. (Really large construction site forklift that telescopes out the boom quite a ways.)

I know pretty cool machine. Now don't worry I used to drive one of these for a living in a past life as a construction worker. this unit allowed me to pickup the very heavy tub and boom out to my back patio without driving on the grass. Barely have any but would like to keep what I have.
After positioning the tub I had to take off the sides and hand dig out the insulation foam to access the piping. Not fun and filled up about 8 large trash cans of foam.

I then found the problem. The previous owner had drained the tub for winter but did not put antifreeze in the lines so the bottom main lines had frozen and cracked the main PVC lines. Darn This meant I had to flip the tub on its side. Remember it weighs about 1200#dry. This took me my neighbor and Brenda(She was not very happy with helping)

Removal of the broken parts and replacement with new parts in the next blog.
